Exness MT4 download and login for Hong Kong readers

MetaTrader 4 connects to an Exness MT4 trading account using its number, trading password and server. Obtain the platform through Exness’s official platform options, then sign in with that account’s details. Desktop MT4 supports MQL4 Expert Advisors; mobile and browser versions do not run them.

Download MT4 and connect the account

Open the official Exness destination, find Platforms > MetaTrader 4 and choose the version for your device. In your Personal Area, create or select an MT4 account and note its assigned server and numeric login.

On desktop, use File > Login to Trade Account and enter the trading details. On mobile, add an existing account and select the matching server. Use the demo server for a demo account. Personal Area email/password and MT5 credentials do not replace these fields.

A first order exercise before live use

Choose a demo symbol, open its specification and read the minimum volume and price precision. Enter a small practice volume, add a stop and target, then read the accepted order. Modify one level, close the position and find the record in account history.

If you plan in HKD but practise on a USD account, label the budget in USD or use an explicit conversion assumption. A Hong Kong device clock also does not establish the server’s session time.

When the connection or EA does not work

Invalid Account usually calls for a credential/platform comparison, while No Connection calls for a server or network investigation. Rescan servers from the connection indicator and keep the precise error for support.

For an EA, use the MT4 version of the code, enable its required trading permission and review the Experts and Journal records. Do not enable unrelated external permissions to solve a login failure. Exness warns that aggressive request settings can disable an EA.

CFD trading risk

Leveraged CFDs can cause substantial losses, including the money in your trading account. Margin is not a loss limit, and a stop-loss does not guarantee its execution price.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use an MT5 EA in MT4?

No. MQL5 and MQL4 programs target different platforms. Obtain or develop the correct version and test its behaviour rather than assuming identical filenames mean identical operation.

Why can I view the account but not place an order?

One possibility is a read-only password. If trading credentials are correct, the terminal’s rejection message may instead identify margin, market hours or symbol-volume restrictions.

Does closing MT4 close my trade?

No. Accepted positions remain on the account. A locally running EA or trailing process may stop updating, which is separate from closing the position.

Should I install a copy from a chat group?

Use the platform route supplied by Exness or the named software publisher. A third-party package may not be the same installation even if its filename and logo look familiar.
