Exness account types: a Hong Kong cost comparison

Exness publishes five main account types: Standard, Standard Cent, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero. Standard and Pro use spread-based pricing without trading commission; Raw Spread and Zero add commission. Hong Kong applicants need the region-specific first-deposit amount shown during account creation.

Published Exness conditions: five account types

Published starting prices, reviewed 16 September 2026. Spreads vary; commissions depend on the instrument. Availability and first-deposit requirements depend on the profile and region.

How to read the published pricing

The table shows advertised starting spreads, not the spread on every instrument or every order. Raw Spread’s listed commission is up to USD 3.50 per lot per side; Zero starts at USD 0.05 per lot per side. The exact symbol determines the charge.

Pro normally uses instant execution for non-crypto instruments and market execution for crypto. Its Help Center also describes market execution for specified account currencies. Requotes and the selected execution setting therefore matter when comparing Pro with Standard.

Standard Cent: the same number can mean a different volume

A Standard Cent account displays money in cent units and uses cent lots. Exness describes one cent lot as 0.01 standard lot. Its current documentation supports MT4 and MT5, with some crypto symbols available only on MT5; demo is not offered for Standard Cent.

For a Hong Kong budget, do not read 500 USC as USD 500 or assume HKD is a supported cent denomination. Convert the balance to whole currency units before comparing it with another account.

A spread-and-commission comparison for one trade

Assume a USD account, a 0.10-lot currency trade and USD 10 pip value per full lot. Candidate A has a 1.2-pip spread and no commission: estimated spread cost is USD 1.20. Candidate B has a 0.2-pip spread and USD 3.50 commission per lot per side: USD 0.20 + USD 0.70 = USD 0.90.

The USD 0.30 difference is an illustration, not a current quote or an account recommendation. Swap and slippage are excluded. The comparison form below lets you change both candidates; the full planner adds position size and margin.

Deposit, currency and platform choices before opening

Standard-family first deposits depend on the method and region. Professional accounts have a regional first-deposit requirement; the generic “from USD 200” figure is not a Hong Kong minimum. Open account in the Personal Area shows the requirement for the profile.

Choose the intended account currency and platform at creation. MT4 and MT5 logins are not interchangeable. HKD appears in the published Standard currency list, but the actual account-creation options determine what is offered to you.

Calculate a hypothetical position

This manual estimate uses your inputs, without live prices or account access. Leveraged CFDs can cause substantial losses, including the money in your trading account. Margin is not a loss limit, and a stop-loss does not guarantee its execution price.

Planning mode

Start with Simple for percentage sizing. Use Pro for costs, contract details and currency conversion.

Transparent model

The preset contracts and prices are assumptions. Simple uses preset contract and pip sizes, fixed conversion and zero costs. Pro lets you replace those values with the symbol details you intend to model. Sizing is before costs; net risk includes them.

Let Q = contract size × lots, C = the manual quote-to-account rate, and D = absolute entry-to-exit price distance (or pips × pip size). For a buy, stop is below entry and target above; reverse for a sell. All prices must remain positive.

  • Risk budget = balance × risk % ÷ 100, or entered risk amount. Lots = risk budget ÷ (stop distance × contract size × C); fixed lots bypass sizing. No lot-step rounding is applied.
  • Position = Q. Notional = entry × Q × C. Margin = notional ÷ leverage. Pip value = pip size × Q × C.
  • Spread = spread pips × pip value. Round-turn commission = 2 × commission per lot per side × lots. Swap = signed nightly cost × lots × nights. Positive swap is a cost; negative swap a credit. Total costs = spread + commission + swap.
  • Stop risk / target reward = respective D × Q × C. Gross R:R displays reward ÷ risk. Net risk = stop risk + costs; net reward = target reward − costs. Net R:R = net reward ÷ net risk (unavailable when net risk ≤ 0).
  • Free margin = balance − margin − total modeled costs. This assumes no existing positions or floating P/L and reserves round-trip costs. Spread is added once because the entered distances exclude it. Slippage, gaps, margin tiers, triple-swap days and taxes are outside the model.

Compare two hypothetical account costs

Use the same volume and number of trades for both candidates. The form compares assumed spread and round-trip commission, excluding swap, slippage and conversion. Selecting an account name does not retrieve its prices.

Assumed values are ready to compare.

Calculation used

For each candidate: ((average spread × pip value × lots) + (2 × commission per lot per side × lots)) × round-trip trades. Use values from the same instrument and observation period.

Frequently asked questions

Does zero spread mean a trade has no cost?

No. Zero account commission is charged by instrument, and a spread can widen. Holding charges and execution differences can also affect the result.

Is Standard Cent a practice account?

It is a real-money account with smaller lot units, not a virtual-money demo. A small-looking cent balance must still be interpreted in its denomination.

Can I convert an MT4 login into MT5?

The assigned platform cannot be switched for an existing trading account. Create a separate MT5 account if you want to use MT5, keeping its login and server separate.

Will these forms select an account for me?

No. They compare numbers you supply. They cannot establish eligibility, live spread, execution quality or whether the exposure fits your circumstances.
