Open a demo and choose its platform
Create or enter your Exness Personal Area. In the accounts area, open a new trading account and choose Demo, the available account type and MT4 or MT5. Set the requested currency, leverage and trading password, then open a compatible terminal.
A Hong Kong practice budget does not need to copy the default USD 10,000. Use a virtual balance you can interpret in the selected account currency. A demo option is not confirmation of live regional eligibility.
Change the virtual balance without making a payment
In the Personal Area’s demo accounts list, use Set Balance, sometimes under the three-dot menu. Enter the desired balance and confirm. Exness states that the new value can be higher or lower than the current balance, in that demo account’s currency.
Save any useful trade history before changing the exercise. Repeatedly resetting after a losing sequence makes it harder to learn how position size affected the account.
A practical first session
- Find one symbol and read its lot size and price precision.
- Place one small hypothetical order with a chosen stop and target.
- Change the target, then read the accepted value on the position.
- Close the position and match the result with the history record.
- Repeat with a different volume while keeping the other assumptions fixed.
What a demo result can and cannot tell you
| Task | Demo can help with | Separate live consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Platform operation | Order controls, history and chart settings | Connection and execution under live conditions |
| Sizing | Seeing how distance and volume interact | Actual spread, commission and slippage |
| Funding | No real deposit is needed for virtual funds | Identity, payment limits and account eligibility |
| Discipline | Following a repeatable exercise | Real losses can change behaviour |
CFD trading risk
Leveraged CFDs can cause substantial losses, including the money in your trading account. Margin is not a loss limit, and a stop-loss does not guarantee its execution price.
