Published leverage limits by equity
The general Help Center schedule below uses USD equity or its equivalent. It is not a Hong Kong entitlement. Instruments with fixed margin requirements and periods of higher margin can differ; the Kenyan entity has a separate maximum of 1:400.
| Account equity in USD | Published maximum setting |
|---|---|
| Below 5,000 | 1:2000 by default; unlimited only when eligible |
| 5,000 to below 30,000 | 1:2000 |
| 30,000 to below 100,000 | 1:1000 |
| 100,000 and above | 1:500 |
Published Exness conditions
Unlimited leverage has additional conditions
Exness requires equity below USD 5,000 and at least 10 closed orders with combined volume of at least 5 lots, or 500 cent lots, across real accounts in the Personal Area. Pending orders do not satisfy the closed-order count.
The documented instrument scope is major and minor forex pairs plus gold and silver pairs. The option appears only on qualifying accounts. Trading more solely to unlock a setting creates exposure and costs; it is not a required progression.
Hypothetical calculation
Same position, different margin
Assume 0.10 lot EUR/USD, a 100,000-unit contract and an entry of 1.1000. The position is EUR 10,000, worth USD 11,000 in this simplified model. Margin is USD 110 at 1:100 or USD 22 at 1:500.
With the same position, a 50-pip adverse move is still USD 50 before costs under the assumed USD 1 pip value. For an HKD budget using an assumed HKD 7.80 per USD, that is HKD 390. The conversion rate is illustrative, not a bank or Exness quote.
What to confirm in the account or terminal
Change the setting and read the resulting requirement
Use the trading account’s leverage setting in the Personal Area. The available choices depend on the account, and the terminal’s margin requirement may be more restrictive than the selected ratio. Higher-margin periods can matter around news and market closures.
Consider equity, used margin and free margin together. A standalone new-trade estimate omits the floating result and margin of existing positions; it cannot show your complete account capacity.
CFD trading risk
Leveraged CFDs can cause substantial losses, including the money in your trading account. Margin is not a loss limit, and a stop-loss does not guarantee its execution price.
